The GoldiLocks Universe We Live In

Yes, Goldilocks as in Goldy Locks and the Three Bears. What does that have to do with the Social Imagination? Everything. The story is about human beings and how they see the world, as in imagine it.

The little girl with golden locks represents all the creation, innocent and beautiful. The three bears - God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The family of God. They leave the door open for those that are lost and seek a way back or seek to know where 'home' is.

They 'creation' try grasp at what is out there, which is just right. There is only the condition that is just right for man, for human beings because it was created that way. It just did not fall into place casually or causally by space gas which even as components of creation suggest that they were created as well.

There is no haphazardness to the universe. There is only the 'Goldilocks' universe... the one that is just right.

That is why in the social imagination, we as a group imagination, search for truths, search for identity, search for comfort, and peace in our imaginations as we desire the 'just right'. Which, God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit created for us and wants us to be reunited with.

The Social Imagination ~ Integrative Function!

Anyone with Education will tell you its all about Integration!

In our fallen social imagination, diversity is necessary. Ironically, what we as individuals cling to is solidarity.  America is a diverse nation. Yet, it fails to protect the diversity already within its borders. We fail to integrate. Perhaps, its because America was a 'melting pot'. People who came over either sank or swam.It worked that most people swam as fast as they could integrating themselves. It used to work. If you want to ride a bike, just get on and start peddling. When that urge is not strong enough, or if there is no need because other forms of transportation exists then why bother. As we live more and more in a global community, this urge becomes weak. People don't have to swim or sink. They float between their place of origin and the US.

As with transportation, if you can float to get by, why buy a bike or even a long term public pass. The problem comes when the entire present society is riding bicycles;... you better ride with them if you want to fit in and have any kind of fulfilling future in that wider social group. That is how a positive functioning society absorbs newbies and sustains continuity of what was and is and will be.  see that though the US is some kind of shining star among nations, we can only be that to others in this fallen world by having a clean position, a clear understanding of what makes a person an American. What is an American? It is an immigrant come looking... for a future, for liberty, for justice, for opportunity. What does that require? It requires an open mind and that is what must be integrated into the closed mind of both the new immigrants and the old.

Given today's global community, people become more temporary in a place or not locked in to anyone in particular. Integration is still necessary, no matter how long the stay. If someone were coming to stay in your home, wouldn't you want to integrate them whether they stayed for a week or one year or longer. You would do this so that they and you would be comfortable in the same space and could enjoy the situation. The US has never had any formal integration program. Sure, its has the path to citizenship but given what was just stated about temporary stays, that path is not always taken. The integration of people into a society is vital for everyone's happiness and safety.

We don't see that happening or even being discussed. We hear people in higher positions calling each other names and lame and they are to blame for their yapping.  Anyone with higher education in the social sciences will tell you that we should be hearing our own failure of integrating. How to do that? Well, you have to know something about the society that is drawing newbies and you have to understand what its about in terms of who it is and is not. In that case, the majority of people has to be addressed in terms of who they are and what they do. So, when statistics show that a majority of Americans go to some kind of Christian church or that a majority of Americans still marry the opposite sex and have children, one has to give certain  attention to those stats regarding integration; otherwise, there is no need to integrate. There is only the social contract that stats the 'golden rule' of civil rights. I can only do what the law allows and that goes for you too.

Some people think that is enough. But, the classic social theorist will tell you its not enough. Meaning comes into play in people's lives. Marriage has meaning, family has meaning, belief in a higher being = Creator has meaning. Integration requires that meaning be transferred, shared and appreciated within the borders or framework of the society that one wishes or wants to integrate into. Or...look upon the face of disjunctive function!

The Social Imagiantion ~ Children raised by Pre-school Management and not Mom!

The socialization process begins with mother. Even before the child is born, mother is imparting social information - social role expectations as discussed in the last blog article. Mother also imparts to the child, a sense of trust as she delivers her attention when the child is born and thereafter. She instills social skills and social harmony at least she is naturally equipped for that as we learned that brains and bodies are hard wired from the get go. Mother and only mother is what the infant and child wants, its love from the beginning. But, when mother is gone most of the time, working and not there for the little sponge which longs for her love, then we can expect social discord to be lurking in that child's future.

Take a look around and see the results today. Many young adults are the offspring not of mother (father too but mother most importantly) but the results of pre-school of daycare management which has no great affection as mother does for that child. Yes, they can be caring and provide food and a safe environment but it is much deeper than that. As children cry out for mother, they are met with organized play, story hour, quiet time, or group circle song. Mother the provider of all social reality and love is removed and supplanted by the kind of attention a robot can provide.

Children learn that the source of their desire for satisfactions is not mother but the leader of the group, the statist, the CEO who runs the show attempting to comfort all and not just the one with group inclusiveness that temporarily soothes the need of mother. Even in that scenario, you will assuredly have temper tantrums, and rebellion, you will have protest and in their disillusion such children will be comforted by snacks 'hand outs' and false promises which leads to expectation of constant entitlement... why? cause mommy is not there and she is not coming until her shift or her career allows. Isn't that what we see in today's young adults those left in management care.

I want my mommy!!!!

Mobius Looping in the Social Imagination!

What is a mobius loop or strip? It is a continuous one-sided surface that can be formed from a rectangular strip by rotating one end 180° and attaching it to the other end.
Is man locked into one? One could speculate that he is or that he may be heading that way as man goes deeper into social media platforms and virtual reality all of which is controlled by the ruling elite's political and economic one-sided agenda meant to keep them in power and everyone else in  ... well - a mobius loop.
Let's stick with the probability that man is headed that way.  How, why? We see more and more a cultural upswing that seeks out technology as people are in love with newer and newer micro technologies. For those in the higher ranks of society that's great as housing and entertaining people will largely require very little activity in real time and little space as well.
We are finding people less likely to get outside and play... less likely to experience the real world if we can even call it that. Regardless, what we can observe is that our consciousness of 'our' place in time and space is shrinking toward a singularity which is a point at which the derivative of a given function of a complex variable does not exist but every neighborhood of which contains points for which the derivative does exist.
What does that mean? It means that an original given function of a complex entity does not exist but that a community of which contains points for the original does exist. Like a long code number that represents all. Which means that the diversity among us and in our social imagination will be lost to a great extent - greater unity of sameness.

With such loss, sameness will conquer us and we will become morph into an ameba like existence. We need complexity, and diversity, we need things to be different and stirred up and even conflicting from time to time but not to the point of alienation. Social media introduced us to each other, our diversity, and then it got eaten by the political correctness monster. Now, instead of culture shaping social media, it shapes us into the sameness of a mobius loop. Instead of us moving it, its moving us.

If that is true, then perhaps we are caught up in a mobius loop that pretends to be and is causing a greater unity...that should be disturbing.  Because, if it is not disturbing, then we have already arrived at a point in which the real world is just that... a mobius loop and its not moving, it never was.

Sameness was always there we just did not see it. Like an M.C. Escher drawing it appears to be moving but it is not. Its seems to be the same but it is not. In one of my favorite books "The Eternal Golden Braid"... Douglas Hofstadter writes on page 29 a dialogue between friends who are arguing if a flag is moving or the wind is moving. But it is neither. Motion is inherently impossible. For motion unexists. Thus, we have been a mobius loop of a singularity all along.

Is there one kind of loop? Which mobius loop is the correct or corrupted one is perhaps the greater question at hand. It is the one with diversity among members as each from their vantage on the loop/strip is somehow different due to function yet an indistinguishable as a point in the field on the same mobius loop.

"Just as each of us has one body with many members, and not all members have the same function" ~ Romans 12:4. "All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills" ~ 1 COR 12:11.
